The California Bureau of Real Estate (CalBRE) issued a warning against price gouging on rental housing for wildfire victims, after receiving a complaint and opening an investigation.
California Real Estate Commissioner Wayne Bell said rent gouging and price gouging of any kind is illegal in counties where a state of emergency has been proclaimed.
