SACRAMENTO – The Dental Board of California (DBC) has named Tracy Montez, Ph.D. as its new executive officer, effective Tuesday, November 1, 2022. Dr. Montez has worked in various roles at the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA), most recently as chief of the Division of Programs and Policy Review.
Dr. Montez has overseen the Office of Professional Examination Services, Consumer Information Center, Arbitration Certification Program and Professional Fiduciaries Bureau. She also led the DCA Policy Review Committee and is a member of the Blue Ribbon Commission on the Future of the State Bar Examination.
In addition to more than 25 years of experience in various roles with the California Department of Education and DCA, Dr. Montez holds a doctorate in philosophy in industrial and organizational psychology from Kansas State University.
