Several extremely dangerous storms will continue to strike California this week, bringing with them the threats of high winds, severe flooding, and landslides, along with snow and blizzard conditions at higher elevations. These storms have the potential to cause property damage, injury, and death.
The Department of Consumer Affairs wants to remind licensees and consumers to remain safe during these storms, and to be aware of potential dangers in your area.
- Follow the Office of Emergency Services (@Cal_OES) and your local emergency management agencies on social media for real-time updates about the storm and its threats and visit the Cal OES website.
- Use the California Department of Health and Human Services Emergency Resource Guide to create a personal emergency plan and mental health and social services and resources.
- If you must travel during this time, check current highway conditions on the CalTrans website.
- Sign up for local alerts at calalerts.org.
