SACRAMENTO — Today, Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) Director Kimberly Kirchmeyer announced the appointment of Tess Dubois-Carey to the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE) Advisory Committee. Dubois-Carey will serve on the committee as an industry representative.
“We’re pleased to welcome Tess Dubois-Carey to the BPPE Advisory Committee,” said Director Kirchmeyer. “Her experience and insight into the industry will be a great addition to the Advisory Committee, helping to ensure consumer protection continues to be at the forefront of private postsecondary education statewide.”
Dubois-Carey serves as President of Universal Technical Institute’s Sacramento campus, a role she has held since 2015. In this role, Dubois-Carey helps manage community outreach, industry relationships and regulatory compliance. Prior to her role as campus President at Universal Technical Institute, she served as Student Services Director and Campus Admissions Director. She earned her bachelor’s degree in hotel management with a minor in marketing from the University of Houston.
The Advisory Committee examines the oversight functions and operational policies of BPPE. The Committee also advises BPPE with respect to matters relating to private postsecondary education. In addition, the Committee makes recommendations with respect to policies, practices, and regulations relating to private postsecondary education, and provides assistance as may be requested by BPPE.
